News: XBIZ Announces 2008 Award Nominees

XBIZ magazine has announced its XBIZ Awards nominees for 2008. There are five GLBT categories this year, and COLT Studio Group and Lucas Entertainment led the pack with the most nods. COLT received five nominations, including GLBT Studio of the Year and GLBT Web Company of the Year. Its recent release Hawaii was also nominated for Feature Movie of the Year. New York–based Lucas Entertainment got four nominations, including GLBT Studio of the Year. “My company and I are honored,” Lucas said in a statement. “2007 was a huge year for us, and to be recognized for that by a publication like XBIZ is a wonderful feeling. I am looking forward to the show.” Lucas is also up for Director (with Tony Dimarco for Michael Lucas’ Gigolo) and Performer of the Year. Other nominees for GLBT Studio of the Year include Channel 1 Releasing, Collin O’Neal’s World of Men, Jet Set, Raging Stallion, Studio 2000 and Titan Media. Other nominees for Feature Movie of the Year include A Rising Star, Fear, Gigolo, Grunts and Rich Kid.

“The entire staff of XBIZ would like to congratulate the final nominees of the 2008 XBIZ Awards,” XBIZ president Alec Helmy said. “We’re both thrilled and honored that the adult community has given us the support and opportunity to recognize outstanding companies and individuals across all sectors of the industry.”

The Sixth-Annual XBIZ Awards will be held Thursday, February 7, at the Highlands in Hollywood, in conjunction with the XBIZ Hollywood ’08 Industry Conference, which runs from February 6–8. Digital Playground contract star Jesse Jane and adult industry personality Kevin “KB” Blatt are set to co-host the show. The Players Ball will be the official after-party featuring a performance by rap artist/producer Lil Jon. For more information, visit www.xbiz.com/news/all/88459.

okay for jason ridge, okay for rich kid: a few hot scenes though mansize's flatmate was a MUCH hotter release!
A no-no for this one for gigolo, there wasn't one scene in there which really made me going. okay ridge and Arpad were still 'enjoyable' but the whole thing lacked eroticism and hot steamy exciting sex. Moreover the whole thing was spoilt by a horrible soundtrack....
