Short Takes: Lucas Sets a Date…and More

We told you that Michael Lucas (above) was getting ready to wed his longtime partner Richard Winger. Now we’ve learned that the big day is tomorrow! The ceremony is set to take place in Los Angeles in front of a gathering of family, friends and a who’s who of gay porn industry players. Guests are being told to leave their cell phones and cameras behind. Hmmm, sounds like the enterprising director is planning to sell the pics (taken by new employee Mr. Pam) to People mag for big bucks. Matzel tov, darlings!…Has anyone seen Bill Maher’s new movie, Religulous? We’ve somehow managed to miss this documentary focusing on God and faith, but we’re hearing that in one segment a clip from a gay porn movie is shown and none other than veteran porn star (now Channel 1 director) Doug Jeffries appears on-screen. Wonder if he knows about it!…Raging Stallion Studios has released a trailer for its upcoming holiday release, To the Last Man, and in the process has created a controversy. Considering that the clip features lots of blood and violence (along with gay sex, natch), it’s no wonder. Maybe that was the point? Chris Ward has taken to his blog to defend the movie, saying, “It is true that To The Last Man is a very violent movie. It is a Western epic, as true to a Hollywood blockbuster as gay porn will ever be. [Co-directors] Ben Leon, Tony Dimarco and I decided that we wanted to make a real Western movie—not some cheesy porno rip-off.” To view the trailer, visit chriswardpornblog.com.
