Short Takes: Chi Chi Opens Big…and More

Today’s the day! Chi Chi LaRue’s, West Hollywood’s newest and only gay-owned and -operated adult boutique, will open for business. The store, located at 8932 Santa Monica Boulevard, will feature 2,000-plus titles from the Channel 1 Releasing catalog, including the entire Rascal, All Worlds, Catalina and Dirk Yates libraries. It will also offer DVDs, novelties, lubricants, condoms, apparel, cards, photo books, calendars and performance enhancers. “Everyone at Channel 1 has been working so hard to make this place a reality,” directrix/C1R partner LaRue says. “I just know this place is going to be a big hit!”…Falcon Entertainment has appointed Bruno Gmünder Publishing and Distribution as its exclusive partner for European distribution and public relations. Starting this month, Bruno Gmünder will distribute all new releases from Falcon Studios, Mustang Studios, the Jocks Roadtrip series, Massive Studio, Falcon Str8men as well as a large inventory of classic catalog titles. Both companies plan further partnerships in Web, sex-toy offerings and high-quality photo books.…We’re hearing that two gay porn stars are taking a turn toward the straight (but not the narrow). Studly Diesel Washington (below) has revealed on his blog that he has some projects coming up that “involve women.” The onetime Titan Media exclusive writes, “I have always been bi, [but] all my work has been with men, so I’m happy to report that I will be doing straight porn. This is a major turning point for me. Hopefully I won’t lose my gay fan base, but I want to gain a bigger fan base.” Similarly, Raging Stallion lifetime exclusive Ricky Sinz has bought out a former partner in HoleAndAHeartbeat.com, a straight amateur site he started three years ago that caters to hard-core tattooed men having raunchy sex with women. Sinz says he will continue to share his gay side exclusively for RSS. Good luck with the ladies, guys. Better you than us!
