News: To the Last Man Sweeps at GAYVNs

To the Last Man came out on top last night at the 11th-Annual GAYVN Awards in San Francisco. Raging Stallion Studios’ epic Western won 13 awards, including such major categories as Best Picture, Best Director (Chris Ward, Ben Leon and Tony Dimarco), Best Actor (Ricky Sinz), Best Screenplay (Dimarco), Best Music (JD Slater and Nekked), Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Art Direction, Best DVD Extras and Best Packaging. Cover model Scott Tanner also tied for Best Supporting Actor with veteran star Trevor Knight for Endgame.

Other winners included Ricky Sinz (Best Top), Brent Corrigan (Best Bottom), Barrett Long (Best Cum Shot), Jackson Wild (Best Newcomer and already retired) and Tober Brandt (Best Fetish Performer). Tattooed stud Logan McCree won Performer of the Year and Best Sex Scene Duo with boyfriend Vinnie D’Angelo. New York drag queen Lady Bunny took Best Nonsexual Performance for her hysterical turn in Lucas Entertainment’s Brothers’ Reunion. Leo Giamani received the first Best Web Performer award (a new category this year). Lucas Kazan’s Italians and Other Strangers got Best Foreign Release.

Director Gino Colbert inducted Dink Flamingo, Michael Lucas, TJ Paris, Dean Phoenix (in tears during his acceptance speech), Jack Simmons, Phil St. John and Chris Steele into the Hall of Fame and bestowed the Lifetime Achievement Award on Roger Earl. (It was also Colbert who lowered the shorts of trophy stud Robert Van Damme to expose his perfect ass.) A Trailblazer Award was introduced and presented for the first time to director Chi Chi LaRue, who accepted via remote from Australia.

The awards show was part of a weekend of events sponsored by NakedSword and featured a sports theme, which was reflected in an opening number complete with cheerleaders and a marching band. Margaret Cho, Janice Dickinson and Alec Mapa hosted the show and entertained the packed house at the Castro Theatre. According to the many tweets we received during the night, Cho sang a song about Ricky Sinz’s dick, Dickinson was hitting the bar pretty hard and Mapa wore short shorts and did the Beyoncé dance!

Michael Lucas also caused a commotion when he stormed the stage to denounce Brent Corrigan for doing porn while underage and the GAYVN judges for recognizing him (earlier in the day, Lucas had announced via Twitter that he had successfully banned the twink superstar from the show, but there he was on stage accepting his awards). Some are saying the controversial Russian director was booed for his comments. We’re also hearing that Lucas had an altercation with Corrigan’s boyfriend at the afterparty and is filing charges with the police, but this one is developing. Hey, what would a GAYVN show be without Lucas stirring the pot?
