Short Takes: Grabbys Take Chicago…and More

The Grabbys were handed out in Chicago this past weekend, and a bevy of porn superstars and industry power players arrived in town for both the 19th-annual awards and International Mr. Leather competition. To no one’s surprise, Raging Stallion Studio walked away for the third year in a row with top honors, including Best Movie, Best Screenplay (Dan Rhodes), Best Actor (Cole Streets) and Best Group for its big-budget smash Focus/Refocus. The movie’s co-directors Chris Ward, Ben Leon and Tony Dimarco shared the Best Director prize with Grabbys co-host Chi Chi LaRue (who, in a classy move, invited all her fellow nominees onstage) for Taken: To the Lowest Level, which also won for Best All-Sex Movie, Best Solo (Adam Killian) and Best Box Cover. Lucas Entertainment took Best International Movie and Best Videography (Mr. Pam) for its exotic Men of Israel. Best Comedy went to Dominic Ford’s porn parody Whorrey Potter and the Sorcerer’s Balls. Best Newcomer was a tie between hotties Austin Wilde and Samuel Colt. Matthew Rush won Best Versatile Performer, and the prestigious Performer of the Year statue was shared by Adam Killian and Tony Buff (pictured above with his funky bunch and studly Dean Flynn. Buff also won Hottest Cut Cock). Other highlights: Best Fetish Movie for Titan Media’s Folsom Flesh; Best Leather Movie for Hot House’s Skuff 4; Best Ethnic Movie for Channel 1’s Black Balled 7: Jail Slammed; and veteran superstars Trevor Knight and Jason Ridge and directors Ross Cannon and Dink Flamingo were added to the legendary Wall of Fame. For a complete list of winners, visit Grabbys.com.…The folks at Fleshjack used the Grabbys as a platform to announce the winners of its contest to find new Fleshjack Boys to represent its line of products (previous pitch models include the Visconti Triplets). The porn stars who won the popular vote are (drumroll, please) Brent Corrigan, Brent Everett and Pierre Fitch. Congrats, guys! Of course, one bitter (and wasted?) contender (and loser) took to his Twitter account to read the sex toy company to filth. Then another young porn star chimed in and trashed him for trashing the company. Oh, Brother!…Of course Twitter was buzzing throughout Saturday night, as the porn stars and bloggers covering the event weighed in with winners, losers, drama, Blackout afterparty updates and even stolen trophies. The Grabbys red carpet was where it was first leaked (via Twitter, natch) that newcomer Chris Porter has signed an exclusive deal with Raging Stallion. Porn “It Boy” of the Second Porter (below left with fellow RSS exclusive Austin Wilde) has already filmed at least one scene for the San Francisco–based studio (his recent duo with another new RSS exclusive D.O.). Hmmm, first D.O., now Porter. Is Raging Stallion changing its image or something? Well, they did make D.O. grow a beard to add to his manliness. Wonder whether fresh-faced Porter is old enough to do that yet!

Awww..Chris and Austin look so cute together. I hope they don't change Chris' boyish looks. Yes, granted he still looks a bit 'twinkish' but he's cute. And I did hear about RSS making him an exclusive early on Saturday via Twitter on the way to my bf's folks. Busy Twitter traffic, but I was loving it! Even if I couldn't be in Chicago, it felt as if I was. Wow, 3 years in a row! I just had a feeling they would win. Happy doesn't even begin to cover it. I shot an email over to Tony congratulating him and everyone on their awards. Very well deserved.
