News: New ADULT Mag Premieres for iPad

Dominic Ford is pushing the tech envelope once again. As if publishing an interactive iBook using Apple’s electronic-book format wasn’t enough, now the 3-D director has released a new interactive magazine exclusively for the iPad. ADULT is a free monthly interactive mag that features photos, interviews, reviews, bloopers, “whoro-scopes,” quizzes, erotic fiction and even free movies. Ford promises that ADULT is not just about his own site and its content. There are stories about other producers, including Titan Media, Falcon Studios and Corbin Fisher. And Issue 1 includes a feature called “My Favorite Flings,” in which cover model Francois Sagat shares his personal-best scenes, and pictorials of TitanMan Jesse Jackman and Drake Rock exclusive Carter Hawk. Plans are afoot to make the magazine available for other platforms soon, but to download it for the iPad now, visit iReadAdult.com.

News: Roman Ragazzi Passes Away

We’re sad to say that reports of porn star Roman Ragazzi’s death are true. Details are still unknown, but the onetime Raging Stallion exclusive was found dead in his NYC home over the weekend. He was 38. Ragazzi was known for performing in films such as Tailpipes, Grunts, Playback and Savage in 2007 and 2008. He was also named RSS’s Man of the Year and won a GAYVN Award for Best Sex Scene (with Ricky Sinz) in 2008. In the early days of this site, we covered him extensively, including the controversy surrounding the high-profile job he quit after being outed in The New York Post.

Israeli-born Ragazzi went on to start his own business and become a personal trainer. He recently modeled in a swimwear photo shoot in the February issue of Out magazine, but he mostly distanced himself from the industry. Director and friend Michael Lucas tells VincentLambert.com: “Roman was a true Israeli, tough outside yet gentle inside. I feel terrible and guilty that I was not there for him more. My deep condolences to his family and friends.” We knew Roman a bit over the years and always found him to be a sweet and smart man. And if you’ve ever seen his movies, you know how beautiful he was. Seen: AustinZane Studs at Cocktails in LA

It was another scorchy night at Cocktails With the Stars at Micky’s in West Hollywood last week. That’s when Austin Andrews and Zane Michaels of the AustinZane Web site appeared. The guys did the usual sit and chat with host Scotty B, but from the looks of these pics (courtesy Photos by Larry), the notoriously hetero buds got funky and somewhat naked for the crowd. The pair, who first made their mark as amateurs on StraightCollegeMen, recently shot a bromantic Valentine’s Day scene for their site. The bearded Andrews is also nominated to co-host the 2012 Grabby Awards, set for Saturday, May 26, in Chicago. Good times for straight dudes!

News: Former Kink Star Opens Gym in FL

We’ve written about hunky Mike Verdugo before. First, back in 2008 when his porn past was revealed after he was a contestant on HGTV’s Design Star. And again when he was suspended from his job as a police officer due to that porn past. Now, The Miami Herald is reporting that the 37-year-old fitness trainer has opened a gym in Davie, Florida. Verdugo told the newspaper that he made the kink film Rope Rituals for director Tom McGurk in 1996 at age 22 for $700. He says that he appeared naked but didn’t engage in any hard-core sex. (As we recall from the VHS copy we had back in the day, he was tied up.) The Hollywood Police Department claims it fired Verdugo for not disclosing his previous work. “One door closed and a few opened,” a philosophical Verdugo says. His new Bodytek Fitness is averaging 300 customers a week and he plans to open another in Wilton Manors. So there is life after gay porn. Amen!
