News: Superstar Ken Ryker to “Hang Out”

Anyone remember Ken Ryker? You know, big guy with a big dick? Hasn’t made a movie in years? Well, the Premiere Artists agency has just announced that Big Ken will be making his first-ever live appearances at Micky’s in West Hollywood next month as part of the Ryker Hangs Out tour. Seen: Canned Ham Star Gus Mattox in NYC

Actually, his name is Tom Judson now, but most of our readers know him as porn superstar Gus Mattox. That doesn’t mean he’s not also a multitalented singer, actor, writer, pianist—and dancer, despite what he claims in his hit one-man show, which is currently playing at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street) in New York City. Canned Ham has been on the road for a bit (it played in Provincetown last summer), and now it’s finally in tip-top shape (like Tom himself). The play, written by the star and directed by Kevin Malony, tells the story of how Judson went from playing on Broadway and in road companies of Cabaret and 42nd Street to become the star of porn films such as this and this. In between, he falls in love, loses his partner to AIDS and finds the courage to build a new life. It’s all very uplifting and inspirational for the gays, but it’s also funny (tales of fellow porn stars Pierre Fitch and Francois Sagat had the audience roaring), warm (Chi Chi LaRue, who discovered Judson many years ago on a cold night in Minneapolis, is fondly recognized) and touching (the finality of scattering the ashes of his dead lover). And how can you deny the many talents of a gorgeous guy who parades around in a jockstrap (at age 50!) and plays 12 different musical instruments throughout the 80-minute show? Hey, whatever Judson lacks in dancing skills, he makes up with sheer charm. Canned Ham (named after the rebuilt camper in which Judson tours the country) closes out its run tonight through Saturday. Okay, so it looks like we survived another year of the Black Party. No reported overdoses or fatalities…yet! (Death by fisting!? Ouch!). Last weekend’s events kicked off with BPX: The Black Party Expo at Roseland in NYC. The usual assortment of pornsters and fans turned out to peruse the booths and perhaps pick up a dildo or buttplug on sale.

As the evening unfolded, so did the 2011 International Escort Awards (aka the Hookies). This fifth-annual celebration of the guys who rent (by the hour) got off to a fun start with a sexy dance number by the Daisy Spurs troupe and an onstage mooning from the men of Lucas Entertainment. Then it was on to the presentations, and multi-hyphenate porn stars/escorts were well represented: Samuel Colt won Best Porn Star; Alessio Romero was awarded Best Tattoos (which he explained were in honor of his sobriety); Ben Andrews was named Biggest Cock (no surprise there); Logan Stevens took Best Newcomer (though in his speech he seemed to think he was winning for Best B.O.); and adorable Jayden Grey was named Best Boyfriend Fantasy (huh?). Presenters included Chi Chi LaRue (who also spun); Michael Lucas; Robin Byrd; Michael Musto; Derek Hartley; and a bizarre Sarah Palin impersonator.
