Seen: Porn Stars in P-Town

Our annual trip to Provincetown last weekend found “the little fishing village” on the tip of Cape Cod in Massachusetts as magical as always. Sure, there was still a nip in the air, and most of the locals had vacated for Gay Pride in Boston, but there were still the gorgeous beaches, tony art galleries and yummy restaurants and gay bars. We sampled the tapas at the fabulous Victor’s (hi Andrew!), went to a tasting at the Truro Winery, discovered the Norman Mailer Writers’ Colony and even saw John Waters’ house (though not him as the homolicious director is on a tour for his latest book, Role Models). But you guys don’t care about that. You want to hear about the porn stars! And there were a few to be found.

First, we happened upon handsome Gus Mattox, who has been touring (as Tom Judson, his real name) with his Canned Ham show the past year. Following a successful run in Los Angeles this spring, the onetime Falcon hunk and star of films such as Through the Woods and Dangerous Liaisons is setting up camp in P-Town this summer, where he will alternate performances of his autobiographical one-man show (produced by David Drake and directed by Kevin Malony) at the Art House with a gig playing piano for Varla Jean Merman in her annual showcase there. Look how cute they are in the pics above!

Then we discovered, via Twitter (follow us @VinceLambertNYC), that tattooed hottie Alessio Romero (below) was making his maiden voyage to P-Town and of course, we were there to greet him! The muscled Mexican has made 16 films in the past year or so, including this one, and he will be making more. He also just won a Trendy Award (whatever that is) for Best Sex Scene for his threeway with Johnny Hazzard and Dayton O’Connor in Chi Chi LaRue’s Playing With Fire: 4 Alarm.

But the biggest surprise was when we were accosted on the street by a towering drag queen who turned out to be former porn star Danny Hunter! We first interviewed him back in 2002 on the set of Glory Holes of New York. Danny has since quit the biz, cleaned up his act and moved to San Francisco. And he claims that it was his first time doing drag. Gurl looks good in feathers and high heels, but he’s still got the big dick, rest assured. Sadly Johnny Hazzard was out of town on a gig with Steven Daigle, so we missed him. But maybe next time. You never know who you’ll run into in P-Town, whether under a sand dune or the Dick Dock!

Guy Candy: Vince Ferelli for Rufskin

Another gay porn star is doing the model thang for Rufskin. Following in the oversize footsteps of Leo Giamani, Johnny Hazzard and D.O., Vince Ferelli is the latest stud to model the company’s line of Sheer undies. Ferelli has appeared in numerous movies, including 5 Easy Ways to Fuck a Straight Guy and Loading Zone, and was formerly a Hot House exclusive. More recently, he has caused a stir by appearing in scenes with transsexual models, including two in which T-girl star Natassia Dreams has her way with him. According to Natassia, that is what really gets muscleman Ferelli’s panties in a bunch. Hey, whatever works!

Movie Review: Everything You Wanted to Know About Gay Porn Stars…

Even though here! TV is in the business of marketing programing to the gays, that doesn’t mean it always presents its subject matter in the best possible light. Case in point: the documentary Everything You Wanted to Know About Gay Porn Stars *but were afraid to ask. This film from director John Roecker, which led to a six-part series that aired on the cable channel last year, boasts a big-name porn star cast, but it offers an anything but positive depiction of the gay adult industry. It starts predictably enough with an off-camera voice asking top stars such as Johnny Hazzard (above), Jason Ridge (below), Nick Capra, Bret Wolfe, Jeremy Jordan and Jason Hawke how they got their porn names, why they decided to get into the business (Capra did it to piss off his mother), what their first scene was like and other innocuous questions. But about halfway through, the questions and film take a turn toward the dark side. And we mean that literally as Roecker has photographed these mostly young and good-looking models in extremely unflattering and harsh lighting. Their faces are cast in shadow and the blank walls behind them give a gritty and unappealing look.

Though the coming-out stories remain upbeat (Jeremy Jordan tells a funny one about breaking the news of his sexual orientation to his grandmother during a family dinner), once the topic turns to escorting and drug abuse, the film becomes a one-way ticket to depression and doom. An emotional Joey Milano shares tales of his bareback work, which ultimately leads to a troubling story about a producer knowingly allowing a model with an STD to participate in a shoot. It’s no surprise when Milano reveals his HIV-positive status. One model shoots up on a toilet bowl and another smokes crack for the cameras. Ah, the glamour!

The film departs from the Q&A format to go on set with Nick Capra and his then-boyfriend as they shoot a scene together for this movie. This is ground that has already been covered (and to much better effect) in Ronnie Larsen’s revealing 1997 documentary Shooting Porn. When the boyfriend goes AWOL on a drug bender and then returns to beat up Capra, there’s a feeling that we’ve seen this story before. Every negative stereotype about gay porn and its workers is reinforced, and the subjects often seem one-dimensional and cliché. A brutally honest Capra and a thoughtful Jason Ridge musing on self-esteem and image come alive as fully formed humans, but most of the others just seem like they’re playing the part of a desperate porn star destined to a sad end.

Roecker uses vintage clips from films that depict homosexuals as threats to society and outcasts, but they do little to lighten the tone. Tattooed model Nick Piston gets the last word. After grappling with his own feelings of shame and insecurity, he ends the film on an almost positive note, but it’s too little, too late. Everything You Wanted to Know… has already ignored any of the fun, creativity and entertainment value that the industry might offer to gay men, and instead leads us to a dark and gloomy place, leaving its audience—and subjects—down and out.

News: Hazzard and Bilding to Play Vegas

Vegas or bust! At least that’s what Channel 1 Releasing exclusives Johnny Hazzard and Jeremy Bilding are hoping as they hit the road this weekend to help Cocktails With the Stars host Scotty B take a gamble on a new event in Las Vegas. Scotty B’s latest show, Casting Couch, starts this Saturday, February 6, at 9 pm and will be a bimonthly event at 8 1/2 Ultra Lounge in Piranha. The studly duo of Hazzard (above) and Bilding will be the premier guests.

“We all know that Rascal exclusive Johnny Hazzard is one of the biggest adult models ever, so why not begin with a big bang?” Scotty B asks. “I also wanted to pay homage to Channel 1 Releasing, a legendary Los Angeles studio that defines success and sexiness!”

The promoter/host adds that Casting Couch will be grittier than his Cocktails event on Thursdays at Micky’s in West Hollywood. “My intent with Casting Couch is to reintroduce gay porn into Las Vegas while making jaws drop, cocks hard and hands filled with XXX movies to take home with them,” he says. “The show will be edgier, involve more cocktails and be a tad dirtier—it’s Vegas, of course!”

Of course! At the opening night, Hazzard will also serve as a special guest bartender. Sounds hot! Make ours a Shirley Temple!

A former Big Brother houseguest is about to reveal even more of himself! Reality star Steven Daigle, who appeared in the 10th edition of the popular CBS series, has filmed his first gay porn movie for director Chi Chi LaRue and Channel 1 Releasing. Steven Daigle: XXXPOSED features the former rodeo cowboy in a film that blurs the lines of fantasy and reality, and combines amateur-style footage with pro. It also stars Jeremy Bilding, Jimmy Durano and Josh Griffin (who share scenes with Daigle), plus Johnny Hazzard, Paul Wagner, Brandon Lewis and Slade. “I didn’t expect my life to take this path, but when I was presented with the opportunity, I dove in head first…literally,” Daigle told TMZ, which broke the story to the mainstream press. Texas native Daigle also did a photo shoot last week to appear on the May cover of Unzipped magazine. LaRue, who is almost as obsessed with Big Brother as we are, says that the movie is “unlike anything I’ve ever done or even seen. This is something both fans of amateur and fans of polished pornos will be able to fully enjoy.” Sounds great. Now when is Jeff Schroeder from Season 11 going to make the leap? In fact, there was so much conjecture that the chief of parent company AVN Media Network had to release a statement. According to CEO Darren Roberts, the 12th installment of the popular event will take place in 2010. “There is absolutely no possibility the awards will be canceled, and we must put an end to these outrageous rumors,” Roberts says. “We’ve been doing this event for a long, long time, and we will continue to recognize gay adult companies for their achievements.” However, he added that the awards would be delayed “due to economic factors.” While last year’s show was co-sponsored by NakedSword, this year, AVN hopes to offset expenses by finding a major U.S. and international network that would broadcast the show on TV. The company used a similar tactic recently for the AVN Awards on the straight side of the industry. Roberts said additional information would be made public as soon as it is available. So stay tuned, Tweeters and Twats.…We’re sorry to report that Active Duty model Randy (below) has passed away. Our blog buddy Dewayne in San Diego confirmed a report that the 22-year-old star died of asphyxiation due to carbon monoxide poisoning. The death is believed to be accidental. Randy appeared in numerous movies, including Pullin’ Rank 3, and is featured in the new Brent Corrigan film, Working Hard. New Release: Gridiron Gang Bang

Channel 1 Releasing takes on a classic gay porn scenario, and C1R exclusive Vance Winter takes on the entire football team (and a janitor!) in the just released Gridiron Gang Bang. Following his bottoming debut in Vance Winter’s Taking It In, Winter is hitting the locker room for directrix Chi Chi LaRue and her All Worlds brand. Movie Review: Hazzard Zone

Cast: Johnny Hazzard, Vinnie D’Angelo, Josh West, Aron Ridge, Brodie Newport, Geoffrey Paine, Jason Longh, Vin Costes.

Handsome Johnny Hazzard returns from a brief layoff to prowl for sex in Hazzard Zone. Filmed on location at Los Angeles’ famed Zone sex club, the movie features the Rascal exclusive in two excellent scenes. First, hot Josh West and hotter Vin Costes go bump in the night as they wander the halls of the club. Soon their mating dance is consummated and Hazzard happily joins in. This scene is beautifully lit, with a gorgeous play of shadow and light as the trio do their thing. Hazzard performs major oral on both guys; in turn, they blow him and eat his perfect ass. In the end, Hazzard takes both in his end (not at the same time!) to great effect—and delivers a copious money shot. This fantastic (and long) scene is the centerpiece of the film and walks a perfect line between fine art and steamy sex. Bravo!

Hazzard is also paired with beefy Vinnie D’Angelo for another intense session that takes place on a staircase. The tattooed young Hazzard seems tentative at first as he and the manly D’Angelo make out, but slowly he turns up the heat for another great matchup. The duo trades oral and spit on each other before Johnny bends over to welcome Vinnie into his butt. There’s a great shot here of Hazzard as he is turned all the way over and delivers his cum shot upside down! D’Angelo pumps out a load and brings this unlikely pairing to a surprisingly hot close.

Two other scenes feature Geoffrey Paine (who has some seriously hairy nuts) getting together with Jason Longh and Brodie Newport taking on Aron Ridge, but it’s hard to compete with sexual dynamo Hazzard. His taut body and easygoing demeanor are a sight for sore eyes. When Hazzard is in the zone, few porn stars can compare—especially when director Chi Chi LaRue is at the helm. Together, they make a night of anonymous sex quite memorable. Extras include a look behind the scenes with superstar Chad Hunt interviewing superstar Hazzard. Now that would be a fun coupling!
