News: We’re Four!…and More

My, how time flies when you’re blogging! It’s been four years since the launch of VincentLambert.com. In that time, we survived year one (and the controversy surrounding our interview with Johnny Hanson about his decision to bareback), year two (this interview with Jordan Young from 1999 got picked up by The Insider and others) and year three (when we got to hang out with Simon Dexter and Jeremy Feist). In the past 12 months, we kept up the hard work with stories about porn superstars going to jail (we pretty much had the exclusive on the Robert Van Damme arrest, including his first post-prison photos and interview) and stripping for their fans (Jason Adonis and Ralph Woods). We also chatted with classic studs Clay Maverick (about his nonexistent comeback) and Mark Dalton (about his new career in bodybuilding) and newbies Logan Drake and DeAngelo Jackson.

We took another boat ride with some porn stars; went to the theater for a short-lived porn play and a one-man show; attended an awards ceremony for hookers; and caught up with our favorite nasty bodybuilder. We had our annual calendar contest (thanks to our sponsor, Titan Media); reviewed movies; and watched TV. Vince also did guest spots on the Cock2Go Show and LA Talk Radio’s The Alternative to hype the site. And sadly, we reported the untimely death of a promising young star. All in all, it was a year.

As always, we want to thank our loyal readers for clicking and all our fellow bloggers (who support us) and the studios and porn stars who give of themselves (so to speak). This fourth anniversary is the perfect time to let you guys know about some upcoming changes. The real world is calling, kids, and over the next few weeks, we won’t be able to sit in front of a computer 24/7 (as we have for the past four years). We will check in and out, but it might get a bit quiet around here. We’d like to invite you to delve into our archives for interviews with numerous screen studs, to read our more than 150 (!) movie reviews and peruse whatever else you might find of interest here. Good porn never gets old, right!? In the meantime, we’re still holding out hope that our guy Rusty Joiner (above) Should Do Porn!

Web Watch: The Engagement, Parts 1 and 2

Who cares about the Royal Wedding when we’ve got these guys!? News: Superstar Ken Ryker to “Hang Out”

Anyone remember Ken Ryker? You know, big guy with a big dick? Hasn’t made a movie in years? Well, the Premiere Artists agency has just announced that Big Ken will be making his first-ever live appearances at Micky’s in West Hollywood next month as part of the Ryker Hangs Out tour. The porn superstar, now 39, is set to “hang out” with fans. He’ll sign autographs, pose for pictures and do a Q&A session with host Scotty B. But there will be “no stripping, no jacking off.” No way! (Hooker lovers, take note: Ken is also available for “private meetings.”)

Talent manager David Forest tells us that “response from gay clubs nationwide, in just the first few days, has been overwhelming.” And additional dates for Ken to hang out will be announced as they are confirmed. That’s good because GAYVN Hall of Famer Ryker will be kicking off a month of Forest-fueled events at Micky’s Cocktails With the Stars in May. Following Ryker’s appearance on May 5, muscle hunk Zeb Atlas is set for May 19 (to plug his new self-produced Zeb Atlas Is the Boyfriend film) and sexy Jason Crew is scheduled for May 26 (to celebrate his 10-year anniversary in the big biz). Seen: Canned Ham Star Gus Mattox in NYC

Actually, his name is Tom Judson now, but most of our readers know him as porn superstar Gus Mattox. That doesn’t mean he’s not also a multitalented singer, actor, writer, pianist—and dancer, despite what he claims in his hit one-man show, which is currently playing at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street) in New York City. Canned Ham has been on the road for a bit (it played in Provincetown last summer), and now it’s finally in tip-top shape (like Tom himself). The play, written by the star and directed by Kevin Malony, tells the story of how Judson went from playing on Broadway and in road companies of Cabaret and 42nd Street to become the star of porn films such as this and this. In between, he falls in love, loses his partner to AIDS and finds the courage to build a new life. It’s all very uplifting and inspirational for the gays, but it’s also funny (tales of fellow porn stars Pierre Fitch and Francois Sagat had the audience roaring), warm (Chi Chi LaRue, who discovered Judson many years ago on a cold night in Minneapolis, is fondly recognized) and touching (the finality of scattering the ashes of his dead lover). And how can you deny the many talents of a gorgeous guy who parades around in a jockstrap (at age 50!) and plays 12 different musical instruments throughout the 80-minute show? Hey, whatever Judson lacks in dancing skills, he makes up with sheer charm. Canned Ham (named after the rebuilt camper in which Judson tours the country) closes out its run tonight through Saturday.
