News: Jason Sechrest Announces New Show

Columnist and host Jason Sechrest announced this week that his long-running KSEX.com show The Young & the Curious is undergoing a change in format and will now air three nights a week. Starting on Monday, July 9, The Jason Sechrest Show will be broadcast Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays live from 4 to 6 pm PT and rebroadcast from 10 pm to midnight. The live feed as well as a soon-to-be implemented “immediate archive” feature will be available to both members of KSEX.com and Sechrest’s adult entertainment site, JasonCurious.com.

As in the past, Sechrest will continue to bridge the gap between the straight and gay adult communities, featuring shows more tailored for straight audiences on Monday nights, gay audiences on Wednesday nights and a mix of “anything goes” on Fridays. Now, however, porn will be only one part of the show’s new format, as Sechrest promises to bring to the table everything from political debates to inner industry controversies with a wide variety of guests ranging from musicians and bloggers to astrologers and drag queens.

"Most shows, even sex-based talk shows, are incredibly well-rounded and feature a wide variety of topics and guests," says Sechrest, who has worked as a reporter in adult entertainment for almost a decade. “Look, I’m 27, I’m growing up and I needed a new format to reflect that. My interests have changed. This show will be sexy and it will feature pornography, but it will also tackle controversial topics.”

In addition, Sechrest will host a monthly special, "Inside Studio X," chronicling the careers of adult’s most iconic individuals, a show that will also appear on Pay Per View. News: Cash Gates Open for PlanetOut

According to news reports, Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates has stepped in to lend a helping hand to beleaguered PlanetOut Inc. The San Francisco–based company, which has been looking to unload its adult division, Specialty Publications (producer of Unzipped, Men, Freshmen and [2] magazines), received a reprieve from its financial woes with an infusion of $26.2 million from a group of investors, including Gates via his private investment firm Cascade Investment LLC. PlanetOut also owns Out magazine, The Advocate, Gay.com, RSVP Vacations, among other assets. The deal was expected to close this week.

News: Kent North Found Dead

In a statement released late today, Hot House Entertainment president Steven Scarborough announced that Hot House Lifetime Exclusive Kent North died on July 4 of an apparent drug overdose. “We are all shocked and deeply saddened,” said Scarborough. “Our deepest sympathy goes out to Kent’s friends and family, especially his lover Lloyd.”

North, 34, made his porn debut in 2004 in Handpacked III: Jampacked. He went on to appear in 13 additional films for Hot House, including The Hard Way, Twisted and At Your Service, for which he won Best Solo Performance at both the 2007 GAYVN and Grabby awards.

A graduate with honors from the Royal Naval Academy, North “displayed gentlemanly grace and charm at all times,” said Scarborough. “Kent’s warmth and genuine kindness will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.”

News: Lucas Signs Two New Exclusives

Lucas Entertainment announced today that two fresh faces, Christian Cruz (pictured, top) and Luke Stevens, are joining its stable of exclusives.

Cruz, a Latin fireball with good looks and a killer body, makes his debut in this month’s Auditions 19 in a scene with bad boy Lucas favorite Jimmy. He then takes on a scene-stealing role as Michael Lucas’ sassy assistant in the sex comedy The Intern with sex scenes opposite fellow exclusives Ben Andrews and Ray Star.

Movie Review: On the Downlow

Cast: Jayden Holloway, Jason Crew, Donavan, Marcos Pirelli, Luca Alexander, Trent Atkins, Daniel Flynt, Brant Moore.

Jim Steel is back with a bunch of guys On the Downlow. In four scenes, the veteran director uses a variety of edgy camera angles, lighting effects and editing techniques to present his good-looking cast. Cutie Jason Crew gets together with hairy/tattooed hunk Donavan for some probing oral and intense fucking. Twinks Marcos Pirelli and Luca Alexander also get the arty treatment for their encounter. Donavan returns (on top this time) for a scene that turns into a five-man orgy with Crew, Alexander, Trent Atkins and Daniel Flynt. Crew provides some of his trademark dirty talk, which is pretty much the only dialogue in the movie. We finally get a glimpse of cover model Jayden Holloway in the final scene as he and the bombastic Brant Moore sweat and moan their way through a dramatic rut on a white sofa. Although the models and sex are solid, after a while all the blurry photography, blown-out lighting and visual effects start to get annoying. Why rely on gimmicks when you’ve got Jason Crew’s 10-inch cock? Oh, and even though the opening footage shows New York City’s glitzy Times Square at night, we’d bet that Downlow was shot on an L.A. set as it looks strangely familiar to one we saw in another Hollywood movie last week! News: Brodie Sinclair Signs With Raging Stallion

Internet star Brodie Sinclair has signed a long-term exclusive contract with Raging Stallion Studios. Sinclair, who has also used the name Derek Brodie, became a sensation through his appearances on such Web-based porn sites as randyblue.com. His feature role in Falcon Studios’ Longboard cemented his status as a star in the making. Brodie has now filmed two movies for Raging Stallion, one of which is a sizzling pairing with RSS exclusive Roman Ragazzi. Brodie will star in 10 films over the next 12 months for the San Francisco–based company.

I guess I have too much testosterone!” Raging Stallion, which has not hired nongay performers in the past, made an exception in this instance. “Brodie is straight, but he is about as gay as you can get!” Ward said. “He is a modern American male who sees opportunity is every sexual encounter. Brodie will appear in Raging Stallion’s Grunts, a big-budget military movie scheduled for principal photography next month.
