New Release: To the Last Man

Awards season is on the way, guys. Most of the major studios have released their big year-end contenders by now (the GAYVN deadline is January 12), so in the coming weeks we’ll be looking at the films that are vying for a shot at the industry’s highest honors this year. First up, Raging Stallion Studio’s epic Western, To the Last Man. Much has been made of the bloodshed in this gory production (though the DVD does feature a special “nonviolent” version for the squeamish). They even made a calendar about it! RSS is expecting big things, and president Chris Ward predicts that “this movie will hit numbers in excess of 15,000 units”—which these days is a huge seller. But will the controversy help or hurt its chances?

The two-part film centers on brothers Tanner (Scott Tanner) and Jake (Jake Deckard), who are struggling to keep their Double K Ranch going when it is desperately in need of water. Dillon (Damien Crosse) works at the competing Flying V Ranch, where water is plentiful—and so are the hot ranch hands. This is a brutal man’s world, where raw power replaces commonsense. Rugged outlaws and the heroic wage a battle between good and evil in this sagebrush saga. And yes, blood flows like water as rival gunslingers embrace violence as a test of character and courage.

Part 1: The Gathering Storm
and Part 2: Guns Blazing (both two discs, plus numerous extras, including behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, commentary and outtakes). Directed by Chris Ward, Ben Leon and Tony Dimarco. Starring Antonio Biaggi, Antton Harri, Damian Rios, Damien Crosse, Dan Rhodes, Jackson Wild, Jake Deckard, Jimmy Tripps, Logan McCree, Rick Powers, Ricky Sinz, RJ Danvers, Scott Campbell, Scott Tanner and Tristan Jaxx.
