Author Jeffrey Escoffier and legendary porn directors Jerry Douglas, Wakefield Poole and Bob Alvarez are getting together tonight to dish the dirt at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center (208 West 13th Street) in New York. And porn fans are invited to listen in! Escoffier has a new book, Bigger Than Life, that chronicles the history of gay porn from the early days of beefcake in Los Angeles, San Francisco and NYC to the introduction of hard-core in the golden age of gay sexual freedom in the 1970s, through the AIDS crisis in the 1980s, up to the advent of the Internet in 1990s. The esteemed panel will be discussing all this and more. Sounds like there will be a lot of wisdom up on that stage! There’s a reception at 6 pm and the program starts at 7 pm.
