Movie Review: Uprising

The foreign cast of Uprising is in some sort of battle. This period drama features elaborate soldier costumes and horse-and-buggies, but despite the subtitles, the plot remains muddled. Two soldiers start the action by stripping out of their uniforms to suck and fuck in a field. A gang of what look like Amish farmers steal some horses, which makes the soldiers mad. But not mad enough to stop one officer from ordering two smooth cuties to undress and blow each other. A threeway ensues, which gives their foes time to plan a holdup. The farmers kidnap some of the fighters for ransom and throw them in a stall with the horses. And because the guys aren’t exactly bad-looking, why not have sex with them? (Another threeway!) Following a celebration dance by the fire, one captor hooks up with his prisoner in a barn, but the soldier takes advantage of the situation (following some average oral and anal) and escapes—which is how Uprising ends. Oh well, at least the attractive cast keeps things interesting when the story line fails to satisfy. However, because most of the action takes place outdoors, washed-out and faded colors are evident in some scenes while hot spots show up in sunny ones. Fans of foreign fare and Falcon quality won’t care either way. (Falcon International)

Web Watch: Erik Rhodes’ Revealing New Blog

We don’t know Erik Rhodes. Sure, we’ve seen his movies and admired his work as a Falcon exclusive in Cross Country, Dare and Heaven to Hell. We’ve even written about him, but we don’t know him personally. So when we heard about his new blog, we were mildly curious, but nothing prepared us for the drama that is this new Web site. Now, beefy Rhodes had been dating a guy named Danny from MTV’s Road Rules (we don’t know him either). The porn star and the reality star hit a snag in their relationship, and the ensuing nasty breakup is all fodder for Rhodes very personal posts. The drugs! The sex! The 12-step recovery from the sex! The fistfights! The police intervention after the fistfights! It’s all here. This guy is like the Britney Spears of gay porn—a total wreck on the highway that you can’t help but look at (and what a great bod to admire while we’re gaping!). But after reading Rhodes’ heartfelt and honest posts, you can’t help but respect his journey through darkness and his willingness to help himself heal. (You even start to forgive his bad spelling and grammar!) Hey, we’ve all been there, bitches, so give the hunk a break. And while you’re at it, visit the highly addictive www.erikrhodes.blogspot.com. It just might help the big guy feel better.

News: XBIZ Awards Announce Winners

The Sixth-Annual XBIZ Awards were handed out in Hollywood on Thursday. For the first time, several gay categories were included. Among those honored were Raging Stallion exclusive Jake Deckard for GLBT Performer of the Year; Channel 1 Releasing’s Link V: The Evolution for GLBT Feature Movie of the Year (director Chi Chi LaRue, pictured with C1R exclusive Blake Riley, accepted); Michael Lucas and Tony DiMarco for GLBT Director of the Year for The Intern and Gigolo; and Titan Media for GLBT Studio of the Year. Hot House Entertainment founder Steven Scarborough took home the GLBT Lifetime Achievement Award.

“I think it’s great that they’re recognizing gay people at this time,” said Lucas Entertainment president and CEO Michael Lucas. “It’s wonderful because we are all in this fight together. We are all fighting the bigotry of the world, and it’s very important that we are together—gay and straight.”

(On a side note, we were surprised to learn that Lucas also got an award for Publicity Stunt of the Year for this. We didn’t know they gave awards for such nonsense!)

The awards show was held at the Highlands in conjunction with the XBIZ Hollywood ’08 Industry Conference and was hosted by Digital Playground contract star Jesse Jane and Kevin “K.B.” Blatt. Movie Review: Oliver Twink

The producers of the sex comedies The Da Vinci Load and Betwinked are back with this genuinely funny update of Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist. The opening moments set the tone immediately when we see that the hot young guys featured are laboring at the Kathy (sic) Lee Gifford Workhouse for Orphaned Waifs. Cutie Dillon Samuels plays Oliver Twink, who on his 18th birthday demands more gruel from studly Mr. Bumble (Brad Star). This scene starts the movie on a high note as sexy Star, wearing longish hair and nothing under his apron, spanks the boyish Samuels and then proceeds to feed him ample cock. The fucking is intense as Samuels takes all that Star has to offer, including a copious load on his sweet face.

This erotic encounter gets Oliver a bus ticket out of town, and he ends up in South Beach, where he lands on the corner of street hustler the Artful Dodger (Kyros Christian). When Oliver accuses him of being a male prostitute, the black-clad Dodger deadpans that he is actually a street mime! He ditches Oliver for a date with a john, televangelist Rev. Daggert (Ryan Thompson). These two get into and off on some serious role-playing.

Dodger returns to find Oliver hungry and alone. Together they venture to Fagin’s den, where all the best street hustlers hang out. Fagin (Jarett Fox) shares his philosophy of life with the guys, telling them, “You’ve got to suck a penis or two!” Oliver and Dodger find out firsthand when they have a hot threeway with the hung pimp.

Oliver starts working the streets, but his first trick ends up being undercover cop Detective Brownlow (Riley Burke), who takes a teary Oliver home with him. This is a light, romantic scene, and hairy daddy Burke contrasts nicely with supersmooth Samuels. The plot gets a bit contrived here as bareback filmmaker Bill Sikes (Harry Beastt) kidnaps Oliver for his evil purposes, but Brownlow saves the day, making the world safe for waifish newbies everywhere.

The whole cast of Oliver Twink has fun with the campy dialogue (after Fox delivers a dramatic monologue, Christian assures him that he will likely win a GAYVN Award for his work) and silly pratfalls (drag queen Misty Eyez takes a beating as Nancy and still begs for more). Samuels is adorable in the demanding titular role and takes a face full of jizz like nobody’s business. This is one twist on a classic that will entertain and amuse viewers, and it even leaves them with a positive safe-sex message. More, please! (PZP Productions)
